The game development might be slowed down due to minor things

I have just discovered for myself that game development implies many routine tasks
Here works the Pareto principle. According to the Pareto principle (aka 80-20 rule) you will spend about 80% of development time developing functionality which is going to be used only in 20% of game time.
The implementation of all these menus, settings, score systems and etc ... all it takes a lot of time! I've implemented a game within a week! But as for this "wrapper" for the game, I have already spent three weeks and still have not finished.
Here raised a reasonable question - why does it take so long? I encountered two major problems which I want to describe further.

How to add screen to GSM

I bumped into a small but a really annoying problem when I was playing around with the GSM at first time. The problem was about adding a new screen.

Windows Phone 7? What's that? Do we need this?

So, what's the purpose of the new type of mobile phone? Don't we have enough phones on the phone market? Does somebody loves to get used to new mobile phone? What the hell?

We already have a lot of phones which fits our purposes very well. We have this nice iPhone with a huge amount of apps. We have "Google phone" for those who is not addicted to Apple's production. All this Simbian, RIM, Windows Mobile ... Oh, god of the mobile phone market, tell me please if there is a room for the one more phone and a mobile OS?

About

Now that I have this blog,  I'd like to introduce myself.

My name is Sergey. I'm from Russia and I'm Russian guy. Actually I always have a strange feeling when I say this, because Russia is very huge and a phrase "I'm from Russia" equal to "I'm from the Earth" phrase. It would be more accurate to say that I was born and grown up in Siberia(I love this place very much).

Dendy
Software Engineering is my profession, currently I'm working at an European company which develops software components. In my spare time I develop my first game for wp7.

In my childhood I had a console which was called "Dendy"  and was similar to NES. I was wondering how I can create my own game. Later when I was studying in a high school my parents bought me a PC.

It was a time when I forgot about my studying at school! I loved first person shooters , the best one was "Kingpin. Life of crime" and later on its place in my top was grabbed by "Deus Ex".
In every game which I was playing I tried to discover the bounds of the game world! How realistic the game is. I tried to bump into invisible borders. I was wondered why couldn't I exit out of a car in a "Midtown Madness 2" game!

After a few month of playing different games, I wanted to create my own game, dispite the fact that I even hadn't known how to write a 'hello world' in BASIC or in Pascal :)

Years have passed and I have graduated from Novosibirsk State University  with a master degree in Software Engineering. Now I have a great experience in software development, a bit time after work and a great passion to make my childish dreams come true!
